Status | Meaning | What to Expect |
Authorized / Pending | The merchant requested approval and your bank reserved the amount, but the payment is not fully completed yet. | The money may appear temporarily deducted or “on hold.” Usually settles within a few days. |
Completed | The transaction was fully processed and finalized. | The amount is officially charged to your card. |
Declined | The payment was rejected. | This can happen for different reasons, such as low balance, wrong card details, card restrictions, fraud checks, merchant issues, or network issues. |
Refunded | The merchant returned money to your card. | Refund timing depends on the bank and merchant, often 1–10 business days. |
Failed | The payment attempt could not be completed due to technical or processing issues. | This can happen for several reasons, including insufficient funds, incorrect card details, bank security checks, network issues, or merchant processing errors. In some cases, you may briefly see a temporary authorization hold, but it is usually reversed automatically. |
Cancelled | The merchant cancelled the transaction before final settlement. | The charge should not be fully processed. |
